You may be suffering from events or relationships in the past which are still reverberating in your life now. You may be self critical and lack belief in yourself. You may be struggling with a long term health condition, or grieving the los of a loved one. Or you may not even know why you feel dissatisfied with your life, and want more.

All these issues can be helped by counselling or psychotherapy. But what's the difference?

In practice, there's quite an overlap between the two.

However, broadly speaking, counselling may focus more on current issues, and be slightly more solution focused.

Psychotherapy will delve deeper into a your history, emotions, and thought patterns. It aims to uncover and address underlying psychological issues, such as unresolved trauma, deep-seated emotional conflicts, or longstanding behavioral patterns.

Often therapy is some mixture of the two. If you're unsure which is right for you, feel free to call and we can talk about what approach might be most helpful for you.
